About Lanzhou City and Gansu Province: Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province, is strategically located at the heart of China and serves as a pivotal point on the ancient Silk Road. The city is bisected by the Yellow River, which nurtured Chinese civilization. Its prime location offers stunning riverside scenery and a variety of culinary delights, including the world-famous Beef Noodles. Lanzhou also provides easy access to fascinating tourist spots in other cities of Gansu via day trips. Situated in Northwestern China, Gansu Province spans across three plateaus (Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, Loess Plateau, and Inner-Mongolian Plateau) and two major river basins (Yellow River and Yangtze River). The province boasts diverse climates and landscapes, including grasslands, Gobi deserts, glaciers, snow mountains, Danxia landforms, canyons, and Karst caves. Additionally, Gansu is rich in cultural heritage, encompassing Silk Road Culture, Yellow River Culture, the Great Wall Culture, and Ancestral Culture. In 2018, Gansu Province was recognized by Lonely Planet as one of the "top 10 best places to visit in Asia."
