About: 

Xuhui Ding works as an associate professor in ESL teaching, intercultural studies and translation theory and practice at School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Lanzhou University. He is a supervisor of MA students in Applied Linguistics (Translation Theory and Practice) and Master of Translation and Interpretation (MTI). He holds a BA in English Linguistics and literature from Northwest Normal University(1997), MA in Applied Linguistics(2006) and PhD in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature from Lanzhou University(2016). He works extensively on translation theory and practice. He was a translator and interpreter in the China-US joint venture LS-National Oil in 2006, a Visiting Scholar in the Center for Translation and Intercultural Studies, University of Manchester, UK, in 2012, and a Visiting Professor at Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics in 2019. Currently, he is the English Editor for the Lanhzou University Journal, China Muslim Journal and a member of the council of Foreign Literature Society of Gansu Province. He received an “Excellency” award by the Gansu Provincial government for the contribution of translation to the First Silk Road International Cultural Expo in 2016.
