Tibetan High School Students Visit VR Teaching and Research Classroom of the School

On June 1and 2, a team of Tibetan high school students led by their teachers were invited to the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures to visit VR Teaching and Research Classroom of the Ministry of Education for the Reform of English Acquisition Teaching for Ethnic Minorities.

On June 1, they came to Chengguan Campus of Lanzhou University where they learned how to master English effectively, the history and achievements of the university, and the rationale of electron microscope and its application in various fields such as materials science, life science and medicine. In library, students were informed about the rich collection of academic materials here, and impressed by the strong patriotism of extraordinary professors who have made remarkable contributions to the society.

On June 2, they arrived at Yuzhong Campus where they were led to the Innovative VR Lab for the Transmission of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture. According to vice dean Prof. Chen Jianlin, the lab is designed to enable students  to be personally engaged in the cultural scene through such technologies as VR combination, human-computer interaction and remote on-site, showing the efficiency and convenience of digital educational infrastructure. Meanwhile, it is of great help for students to learn foreign languages, and therefore to carry forward excellent traditional Chinese culture by telling Chinese stories.
