On September 21, LZU final of the 8th “SFLEP Cup” National Intercultural Competence Contest was held at Tianshan Building, Yuzhong Campus . Ding Xuhui, Long Fengxia, and Liu Xuelan from the SFLL’s coaching team acted as judges of the event.

The contest featured a two-stage process: a video-reviewed preliminary round drew 54 students (18 teams) from 9 schools, with 9 teams advancing to the final. Finalists performed case studies on intercultural scenarios such as international business collaboration, cultural integration, and empathetic communication, and responded to judges’ questions. Lively performances, paired with theoretical analysis, highlighted participants’ English fluency, cross-cultural agility, and teamwork.

Awards included 2 First Prizes, 3 Second Prizes, 4 Third Prizes, and 1 Best Case Award. Top performers Li Jiayan (School of Foreign Languages and Literatures), Lu Yiming (School of Atmospheric Sciences), and Liu Zhaozeng (School of History and Culture) are qualified for the provincial finals in the name of the University.
