On December 2, representatives from three universities in Kazakhstan visited the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Lanzhou University to explore opportunities for collaboration. A discussion meeting was held in Mingdao Building on the Chengguan East Campus, attended by Zhu Gang, Dean of the SFLL, Ding Xuhui, Vice Dean Dean of the SFLL, and He Junwen, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Vice Dean of the School of International Cultural Exchange. Also present were Shi Juhong, Head of the English Department; Zheng Lili and Bai Jie from the Russian Department; and Shi Tingrui, Foreign Affairs Secretary. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Ding Xuhui.

Zhanar T. Zhyltyrova, Vice President of Kazak Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages; Saltanat Jakubayeva, Director of the International Office of Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University; and Farida Orazakynkyzy, Head of the Chinese Studies Department at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, each briefed their institutions, academic strengths, and current international cooperation initiatives. They also expressed strong interest in enhancing collaboration with the School in areas such as language education, joint talent training, and short- and long-term exchanges for faculty and students.

Zhu Gang extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation. He noted that the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures and the three Kazakh universities share a solid foundation for cooperation and promising prospects. He expressed hope that the two sides would establish a stable cooperation mechanism and deepen future partnerships. Ding Xuhui also provided an overview of the SFLL and its international cooperation efforts.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on degree programs, mutual visits between faculty and students, summer schools, and other areas of collaboration, expressing intentions for future exchange and cooperation.
