On December 5, Zhang Hongli, Vice Dean Dean of the SFLL , and He Min, Deputy Director of the MTI Education Center, visited Oulang International Translation (Lanzhou) Co., Ltd. as part of the School’s ongoing initiative to strengthen enterprise engagement and expand internship and employment opportunities for students.

During the meeting, the two parties held in-depth discussions on the development trends and talent needs of the translation industry under new circumstances, with particular attention to the opportunities and challenges brought by the application of artificial intelligence in translation practice and translation education. The conversation also focused on reforming curriculum design and innovating teaching models to cultivate well-rounded, application-oriented translation professionals equipped with strong linguistic and cultural competence, technological literacy, and intercultural communication skills. All agreed that there is broad room for collaboration in areas such as translator training, student internships, and joint cultivation of professional master’s degree students. A preliminary cooperation intention was reached. Moving forward, the two sides plan to jointly establish a professional internship and training base to offer stable, high-quality internship positions and workplace experience for students. They will also work out a university-enterprise collaborative training mechanism, carrying out deeper cooperation in curriculum development, project-based practice, and career guidance. In addition, the SFLL and the company aim to develop pathways for the joint cultivation of master’s students in translation, enhancing students’ practical and innovative abilities through industry-academia integration.
Looking ahead, the School will continue to advance enterprise visits and partnership development, deepen collaborative talent training, and further align translation education with industry development, contributing more effectively to regional economic and social progress.
