Mr. Sheng has achieved great success in his career while never forgetting his alma mater. The establishment of the Liguo Fund is not only a financial support for current students but also a legacy of dedication to the country and community. The School highly values this generosity and strictly manages the selection and distribution of the fund to ensure that every donation effectively supports students’ growth and development.

University-Enterprise Dialogue: Fostering Talent Cultivation and Expanding Employment Channels

On March 21, the School, in collaboration with the Inner Mongolia Alumni Association, held a university-enterprise networking event titled “Joining Hands for Employment----Connecting Lanzhou University’s School of Foreign Languages with Inner Mongolia Alumni Enterprises”. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with local alumni and business representatives on topics such as regional economic trends, corporate talent needs, and collaborative talent cultivation.

Lu Xiaobing briefed the attendees on the recent developments of Lanzhou University and the School in areas including discipline development, talent cultivation, research, and community service. He noted that foreign language studies are faced with new opportunities to serve national strategies and local economic development. This visit was not only about reconnecting with alumni but also about building partnerships, exploring markets, and boosting employment. By engaging deeply with alumni?led enterprises, the School aims to better understand the knowledge, skills, and qualities employers seek, and to align its training programs more closely with market demands. He also extended a warm invitation to alumni enterprises to return to the university for recruitment, helping to establish a connected system of “education, internship, and employment”.

The event was met with an enthusiastic response. Corporate representatives spoke highly of the quality of talents cultivated by the School and offered valuable suggestions for talent development based on their industry experiences. The two parties reached preliminary agreements on establishing internship bases, offering customized training programs, and creating more job opportunities for graduates.

This visit to Inner Mongolia not only strengthened the bond between the School and its alumni but also laid a solid foundation for deeper collaboration in talent cultivation and employment. Moving forward, the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures will continue to pursue both outreach and engagement efforts under the “visiting enterprises to expand employment” initiative, aiming to help graduates secure fuller and higher?quality employment.
