SFLL held its 2026 Research Work Meeting on September 20. The meeting was chaired by Zhu Gang, Dean of the School, and attended by directors of research institutes, heads of departments and centers, and some faculty representatives.

Zhu Gang conveyed the key points of the University’s regular meeting on humanities and social sciences and presented a report on the School’s research activities. Drawing on the overall development of the humanities across the University, he analyzed the composition and size of the School’s faculty in terms of academic titles and age distribution. He also reviewed the School’s current research project applications and funding outcomes in light of the University’s overall project application results. Zhu noted that the School still had considerable room for improvement in key research indicators and landmark research achievements, and that greater efforts were needed to strengthen organized research. He called on each research institute and academic program to develop research plans based on its specific circumstances while taking a long-term perspective. Focusing on advancing organized research and making full use of the functions of research institutes, Zhu outlined specific research priorities for the current semester. He encouraged research institutes and faculty members to engage actively in academic exchanges and work together to foster a strong research culture.

Following the report, Zhu held a discussion with the faculty members on the implementation of organized research.
