School of Foreign Languages and Literatures was approved by the National Ministry of Education to grant the degree of MTI in 2010 and it began to enroll students from 2011. Formed in 2013, the Education Center of MTI aims to train professional translators and interpreters of high proficiency that meet the demand of society. Graduates of MTI are supposed to be capable in doing translation and interpretation in a wide rang of fields that include politics, economy, tourism, news medias, business management, law and medical science.
Staff
There are 17 full time staff members (13 professors) and 8 part-time teachers (4 professors), who are all highly experienced in translating and interpreting in a wide range of fields, such as literature, politics, economics, law, tourism, and etc.

Our major courses include Politics, the Second Foreign Language, Chinese Language and Culture, A General Introduction to Translation, Preliminary Interpretation, Preliminary Translation, Thematic Interpretation, Consecutive Translation, Simultaneous Interpretation, Literature Translation, Translation Criticism, Conference Interpretation, Sight Interpretation, Diplomatic Translation and Interpretation, Business Interpretation, Law Translation, Science and Technology Translation, Media Translation, Medical Science Translation.
Application
Our program usually requires a previous bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, but candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in other fields who are good at English are also welcome.
Specifically, the current year’s graduates with a bachelor’s degree, non-fresher graduates with a Bachelor’s degree and graduates from high vocational colleges who have graduated over 2 years and have met other requirements specified for them can apply for a degree of MTI.
